Why this site exists
Rio Celeste is the single most photographed river in Costa Rica, and it is also one of the easiest places to get wrong: it sits an hour and a half down winding mountain roads from La Fortuna, entry slots are capped, swimming is banned inside the park, and heavy rain can turn the famous blue current green-brown between breakfast and lunch. The tours sold to reach it differ sharply in departure point, hiking time, wildlife stops and what the price actually covers. This site reads the listings before you pay, and puts the facts that decide the day on every page before anything else.
How we compare
Every listing here was read directly from its booking platform page: price, inclusions, departure point, hiking time, group size, cancellation window, and the honest edges - transport add-ons, swimming rules, rain policy. Review counts and ratings are the platforms' own verified figures. Hard facts - the park entrance rules, the color-change chemistry at Los Teñideros, the trail layout and the swimming ban - are checked against official Costa Rican sources and the operator listings each quarter, and the comparison tables state when the figures were last read.
